We've been in the room
when deals fall apart

Kairos was built by practitioners who spent years watching capable deal teams lose opportunities — not to better competitors, but to broken workflows. A spreadsheet that didn't update. A diligence issue nobody caught. An IC memo that took two weeks.

Why we built this

The M&A software market has two extremes. On one end, you have massive enterprise platforms — DealCloud, Midaxo, Datasite — built in the 2000s and priced for Fortune 500 legal teams. On the other end, there's Microsoft Excel, which 73% of mid-market deal teams still use as their primary pipeline tool in 2026.

"We had a $90M target fall out of our pipeline because no one noticed we hadn't followed up in 47 days. It was in cell D1,847 of a spreadsheet."

— Corporate Development Director, $2B industrial company (early design partner)

That gap — between the $200,000/year enterprise suite and the 14-tab spreadsheet — is where the mid-market actually lives. Companies doing two to eight acquisitions per year. Teams of four to twelve people. Real deal volume, real complexity, real need for better tools. And until now, no platform built specifically for them.

Kairos takes its name from the ancient Greek concept of the right moment — the critical, opportune instant that changes everything. In M&A, timing is almost always the differentiator between the firm that closes and the firm that watches from the sidelines. We built a platform to help deal teams recognize and act on their kairos moments faster.

The principles behind every decision

01

M&A is about judgment, not data entry

Every hour a deal team spends reformatting spreadsheets, chasing status updates, and writing the same memo for the fourth time is an hour not spent on the analysis that actually creates value. Kairos handles the mechanical work so practitioners can focus on judgment.

02

Speed is a competitive weapon

The team that sees a target first, moves into diligence fastest, and gets to IC with a clean recommendation wins. In M&A, process speed directly translates to deal quality. We measure Kairos's success by how much faster good teams close.

03

Transparency builds trust

No six-figure contracts with hidden implementation fees. No vague pricing. No 'call us for a quote.' Kairos pricing, security practices, and SLAs are published. Deal teams are sophisticated buyers — they deserve clear, honest information.

04

AI should augment, not replace, deal judgment

Kairos AI surfaces risks, flags anomalies, and drafts memos — but the GP decides to invest, the VP decides to proceed, and the IC decides to close. We're building tools for better human decisions, not automated deal machines.

05

Confidentiality is non-negotiable

Deal data is some of the most sensitive information an organization holds. Our architecture, policies, and culture are built around protecting it. Your pipeline, your targets, your diligence findings — these are never accessible to anyone but you.

06

Mid-market deals deserve enterprise-quality tools

The assumption that serious M&A infrastructure requires a seven-figure implementation project is wrong. The technology exists to deliver enterprise-grade capability at a price point mid-market teams can justify. That's exactly what we're building.

Built by people who've done the deals

The founding team brings direct experience in corporate development, M&A advisory, and enterprise software. We know what a pipeline spreadsheet looks like at 11pm before an IC meeting.

Alex Kim

CEO & Co-founder

Previously VP Corporate Development at a $3B industrial company, where he ran 14 acquisitions over six years. Before that, M&A advisory at a mid-market boutique. Watched one too many good deals die in spreadsheet chaos.

Sara Nair

CTO & Co-founder

Formerly led data infrastructure at a Series C fintech. Built the deal data pipeline used by three regional PE firms before joining Kairos. Obsessed with making AI useful rather than impressive.

Marcus Patel

Head of Product

Six years at DealCloud building the enterprise product. Joined Kairos because he wanted to build the version he'd always wished existed — without the legacy codebase or enterprise sales motion slowing everything down.

We're a small, focused team. No headcount for headcount's sake. Say hello if you're interested in joining.
